About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Claire (preferred pronouns: she/her). Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile!
The idea of counselling and picking a therapist can be daunting. If you’d like to call me for a free 15-minute chat to find out how I work, or just to ask for advice, then please do contact me – there are no obligations.
Counselling can offer you a space to share thoughts, feelings and life experiences, I offer you acceptance, space and time to focus on what matters to you. You can be totally honest about whatever you’re going through, some things may be painful to talk about, and you may fear being judged or misunderstood. We’ll work together in our sessions to establish what you’d like to get from the counselling and I’ll support you in achieving those goals. No issue is too big or small for counselling. There is always hope, and I believe everyone is capable of living in a way that is true to themselves.
I have over five years’ combined experience of working with people who feel suicidal, and as a bereavement therapist. I have worked with people from all walks of life and I welcome people across all cultures, races, religions, genders and sexual identities.
If you’ve had a bad experience with mental health services or counselling, we can discuss how we might work differently this time.
If you’re unsure about counselling, don’t know where to start, or find it difficult to talk about your emotions, don’t worry! We can take things at your pace.
Due to Covid I am offering online sessions (via zoom) or telephone sessions
Type of counselling:
I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I have studied different types of therapy so I can offer different approaches to suit the needs of the individual. I don’t believe one size fits all and I work with people, rather than their diagnoses.
Counselling works best weekly – we will keep the same appointment time each week. You may want to book just a small number of sessions, or you may want to work in an open-ended, long-term way. I am open to either.
£60.00 per session
£35.00 per session for students/those in receipt of universal credit (please email for more specific details about reduced rate)
My first session
In our first session we'll talk about what you hope to get from the counselling (although it's fine if you're not sure yet).
I'll ask questions that will help me understand how I can best help, and we will decide together if I am the best person to help you at this time.
