About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified and experienced Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, trained at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. I offer once or twice-weekly therapy from my consulting room in Basford, Nottingham, as well as online sessions for those who prefer or require remote support.

I work with individuals facing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and difficulties related to relationships or major life transitions. My areas of special interest include sexual trauma, narcissistic abuse, addiction, low self-esteem, weight-related issues, and mood disorders.

Therapy can be offered on a short-term, focused basis or open-ended to allow for deeper, longer-term exploration. I begin with an initial consultation—without any obligation to continue—to help us think together about what support you may need and whether we are a good fit.

My consulting room is designed to provide a calm and confidential space for reflection. Conveniently located in Basford, it offers free parking and has a bus stop just across the road.

For those who may find travel difficult, online sessions offer flexible access to therapy from the comfort of your own home.

Practice description

A Space to Reflect, Understand, and Heal

Psychodynamic psychotherapy offers a powerful and in-depth approach to understanding emotional difficulties. It is especially effective for those struggling with depression, anxiety, unresolved trauma, or a persistent sense of emptiness or disconnection. It can also support those experiencing milder forms of distress that still impact daily life and relationships in meaningful ways.

In therapy, you will find a confidential and compassionate space where you are free to speak openly—without judgment. Together, we will explore your thoughts, feelings, and early life experiences to better understand how they may be influencing your present. By making sense of these patterns, therapy can lead to lasting emotional growth, greater self-awareness, and more fulfilling relationships.

This is a space where difficult feelings can be thought about, where silence is respected, and where change can begin.

What to Expect in Your First Session

Your first session is a space for us to begin thinking together about what has brought you to therapy at this time. It’s a chance for you to speak freely about what’s troubling you, to reflect on your experiences, and to consider what you hope to gain from therapy.

This initial meeting also gives you the opportunity to experience what psychodynamic psychotherapy feels like in practice. We’ll begin to explore how we might work together and whether this therapeutic approach feels like the right fit for you.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy involves a thoughtful and reflective process—one that looks beneath the surface to consider how early experiences and relationships may be shaping your current emotional life. While this way of working can be profoundly rewarding, it isn’t for everyone, and part of this first session is about deciding whether this approach suits your needs.

There’s no pressure to commit—this is a space to begin exploring, in your own time and at your own pace.

About me and my therapy practice

As a psychodynamic psychotherapist trained at the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust and with additional qualifications in integrative counselling, I offer clinical supervision that draws on a broad and inclusive therapeutic perspective. This enables me to support practitioners from a range of modalities and at various stages in their professional development.

Whether you are working with your first training case, navigating the complexities of private practice, or are an experienced therapist seeking reflective space, I offer a supportive and containing environment to help you explore your work in depth and with confidence.

Practice description

In our supervision sessions, we will use psychodynamic and psychoanalytic thinking to explore your clinical work in depth. Together, we will consider the dynamics at play within the therapeutic relationship, including what may be happening within you as the therapist, within the client, and within the broader setting or system.

You will be encouraged to think reflectively and creatively about the unconscious processes that may be influencing the work. This space is intended to support deeper understanding, develop clinical insight, and enhance your capacity to think about meaning, emotion, and relational patterns in your practice.

My first session

When we first meet, we'll take time to reflect on your previous experiences of supervision and explore what you’re hoping to gain from our work together. This conversation helps us shape a supervision space that feels both supportive and meaningful for your current stage of practice.

My fee is £80 for a full hour. I also offer a limited number of concessionary spaces for those who may need them.
