About me and my therapy practice
Are you struggling to understand your feelings and why you are feeling them? I provide a safe space for you to talk about your life and explore your emotions to help you make sense of what is going on for you and help you to make sense of life life going forwards and to give you some practical tools on how to manage your emotions.
I have a wide range of experience in helping people with anxiety, depression, stress, grief, anger and issues managing relationships with others. I offer a safe non non-judgmental space in which you have the time to explore your thoughts and feelings to understand why and how you relate to others.
I have a Diploma in Counselling and am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I apply the BACP’s Ethical Framework to my work and have regular counselling supervision. I am DBS-checked and have appropriate professional insurance.
I would describe my approach as integrative. Focussing on your experience and your needs. I draw on a variety of approaches using psychodynamic insights(your childhood), and cognitive behavioural approaches. My approach is adaptable depending on your needs and preferences. At its heart, my approach uses talking as a way of unlocking psychological problems, helping you to understand what is happening and take control.
My first session
Your first session will be a gentle introduction where I will ask a range of questions but also an opportunity for you to share with me what is troubling you. It is also a time for you to think about what you would like to achieve in your time in counselling.
