About me and my therapy practice
No two people are exactly alike, likewise any approach to your well-being should recognize your individual situation and circumstances.
Our first step together will be in recognizing what works for you. I utilize a range of techniques and approaches in order to make each stage of our work together as productive and supportive as possible.
Counselling is about supporting you to make the changes you want at a pace and through a process that hands control back to you to manage your well-being.
You are unique, so the therapy you need must be suited specifically to your needs.
By focusing on your specific needs and situation, I work with you to help you find the strategies and process to empower you to move forward in a positive and productive way.
First we pinpoint what it is you want to change and look at what this will be like in real-life terms, then we work together to make these changes happen.
I have worked with people from a wide range of backgrounds in a variety of environments; in schools, colleges, charitable organisations and as a private practitioner.
As well as being a registered member of the BACP, I also teach counselling to future practitioners, outside of my own practice.
My first session
Our first session will be a short 20 minute assessment, to discuss your issue and how best to proceed.
This is an informal opportunity for you to ask questions about my professional background and experience as well as for me to learn a little more about how best I can help you.
Whilst these sessions are usually carried out in person; online and telephone introductory sessions are available.
