About me and my therapy practice
I have been counselling for more than 30 years. My passion is helping clients to grow by increasing their self-awareness and allowing them to move forward towards a more satisfying and effective way of life.
I use various techniques, including a cognitive behavioural approach (CBT), which helps clients challenge their negative and sometimes irrational thoughts and find more realistic responses. However, CBT is not suitable for everyone, so I adapt my approach to suit individual needs.
I also use a brief therapy model when appropriate, which means clients focus on solving the problems by setting realistic goals and making the necessary changes in their lives.
One of my particular interests is helping clients with addiction problems, which includes drugs, alcohol and gambling.
I teach most of my clients relaxation skills, which generally prove very effective and beneficial. These skills help clients relax and can also help reduce cravings for drugs or alcohol.
In addition, I practise Matrix Reimprinting & Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), which has proven very helpful in moving clients forward very quickly. I have an over 90% success rate and use it for both emotional and physical problems. You can see it being used on YouTube.

Practice description
I work mainly from home in Hall Green in a relaxed and peaceful setting overlooking the back garden. Parking is available on the driveway or road.
I only take cash payments or a bank transfer after each session.
My first session
This is an assessment session so that I can get an idea of what problem/s are causing mental health issues for you and to understand your lifestyle.
I will talk about how I feel I can help you and for you to decide whether you would like to start regular counselling with me.
