About me and my therapy practice
Career professionals come to me for psychotherapy or counselling so they can explore any aspect of their emotional life and better manage their mental health alongside their responsibilities and busy working lives. This in turn enables them to be effective managers and leaders in the organisations they work for.
Working with me, career professionals can safely explore any issue away from any possible stigma and taboos around mental health that persist in some workplaces. If you’ve been concerned that opening up about emotional issues may adversely affect your professional reputation and career progression then rest assured that I offer a confidential, safe and non-judgemental space for you to do so.
I can help you with:-
• Emotional Issues – work-related stress, work-related-anxiety, work-related-depression, overwhelm, work addiction
• Workplace Issues - including low self-esteem, lack of assertiveness, lack of confidence, ‘impostor syndrome’, procrastination, being a ‘highly sensitive person’ (HSP) at work, disciplinary and grievance processes
• Workplace Relationships – with your boss, team members, colleagues, managing conflict, workplace bullying
• Workplace Transitions – redundancy, retirement, unemployment, illness, working while also having caring responsibilities
• Meaning and Purpose – finding meaningful work, work-life balance, career direction, career change, spirituality
• Leadership – finding your authentic leadership style, conscious leadership, leading with an ecopsychology and sustainable business orientation
Often the issues people experience at work show up in other aspects of their life e.g. in their personal relationships and at home. I can reassure you that should this be the case for you then you will also be able to explore these aspects of your life with me.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling (Level 7) from the Psychosynthesis Trust, London and am a registered member of the BACP.
I am trained in an integrative style of psychotherapy which includes psychosynthesis, psychodynamic, person-centred, gestalt and transpersonal psychotherapy. This means that I can flex my approach and style and work with you in a way that best suits your individual preferences and respond to what feels meaningful and purposeful to you.
I take a holistic approach; working with feelings, the mind and the body. This can help you resolve conscious and unconscious internal conflicts. Such conflicts can lead to fixed patterns of thinking and behaviour and leave you feeling powerless. Through resolving such conflicts you will increase your self-awareness, open up more choices for yourself about how to live your life on purpose. It can also release new energy for you.
In my work I help my clients look beyond the challenges they are currently experiencing in their lives so as to help them connect with their emerging potential for growth and personal development.
I often work creatively through imagework and metaphor. This can help clients who, through their work, often engage in a ‘mental space’, to broaden their self-awareness and self-knowledge which paves the way to manage and lead more authentically.
I am also a qualified and experience executive coach, life coach and business coach.
I have senior business experience and am qualified in business (MBA). Clients tell me that my business expertise makes them feel I understand their working environment and the demands of same and this helps us build rapport.
