About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and a highly compassionate individual. I can offer you a true therapeutic involvement and a chance to develop what is already in you – your natural ability to restore the balance, to change and grow.
I practise integrative-relational counselling. This means that I can draw from various theories including humanistic, psychodynamic and behavioural. It also means that I pay close attention to the relationship between us as the most important guide in supporting you to move forward in your life. My primary objective is to create a warm and respectful environment where you feel safe enough to explore your difficulties and become the ‘expert’ of your own experience.
My qualifications include BA (Hons) in Integrative-relational Counselling and currently completing MA Conversion Course in Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling.
I have experience in the private and public sectors. I work for 121 Youth Counselling charity counselling young people age 11-25. I also provide counselling for depression working with adults within an IAPT NHS setting. I can also offer extensive experience with older adults, people suffering from dementia, their families and carers.
Personally, my interest is in supporting people to make the most of their strengths and realise their potential whatever that means for them. Making a positive difference in someone's life gives meaning and purpose of my life. I believe that each one of us has a potential for experiencing emotional freedom and wellbeing, so I trust that change is possible even when it doesn't seem so. As a relational therapist my work is to offer the relationship which develops that trust in you.
