About me and my therapy practice
Hello. I'm Andreas Ioannou, a London based psychotherapist offering in-person and online therapy to individuals and couples. I view psychotherapy as the safe space where you can share your stories, explore experiences and make decisions for change – for a happier or more meaningful life.
Clients usually come to me to discuss themes that they cannot openly share with friends or people they know – about their relationships, anxiety, trauma, grief, depression, sexual identity or, as one of my clients likes to put it, just to talk about life’s everydayness.
I am trained as an integrative and existential psychotherapist. My particular areas of interest include trauma and anxiety (stemming from health conditions, career decisions, relationships with others, and relationship with self (affecting confidence, self-esteem, and being in this world).
Above all, I see each client as unique with unique experiences. And I believe that the success of therapy depends on the strength of our relationship and on trust – the foundation for an open and honest dialogue.
My first session
Some people find it hard to step into therapy; some perceive it as scary or intimidating. I make sure it's none of that. Whether you're considering therapy for the first time or you're between therapists, I’d be happy to have a conversation with you – in person, online or on the phone (free of charge). The purpose of our conversation would be to understand a bit more the reasons why you are considering therapy and for me to explain how we'll work together.
