About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified counsellor who will support you in a confidential and safe space.  I believe that the therapeutic relationship between the client and counsellor is key.

A warm, genuine and intuitive person, who builds trust naturally and with care. I have worked for over 27 years in person-focused roles (including mental health, guidance, wellbeing and advocacy).

Apart from my counselling role, I also work in the NHS as a wellbeing practitioner -supporting patients with chronic health conditions to improve their mental and physical wellbeing and health outcomes.

My Qualifications: MBACP (Reg), MA Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice, PG Dip Careers Guidance, BSc Hons Sociology.

Practice description

An integrative therapist, I start from a Person-Centred Therapy approach (client led, from your experience). I can also draw upon other therapies, such as CBT and emotion focusing. Being aware of other approaches and methods helps to achieve a positive counselling outcome, as each person is unique.

You can read a brief outline about the types of therapy here: https://www.bacp.co.uk/about-therapy/types-of-therapy/person-centred-counselling/

https://www.bacp.co.uk/about-therapy/types-of-therapy/integrative-counselling/

I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I adhere to strict ethical guidelines. I undertake personal supervision once a month. This ensures that my clients are getting the best possible care and support.

My counselling training took place at Age UK, Wirral - with the emotional health and wellbeing service. This allowed me to understand a diverse range of client's and their experiences, from aged 18-70's+. The Brain Charity Liverpool enriched my experience in working with people and their families living with neurological conditions.

My first session

FREE 20–30-minute assessment/chat by phone offered without obligation to book a session:

Once you have contacted me via this website, we can arrange a convenient time for you to have an informal chat over the phone and discuss your issues (and whether you would like to book any sessions). This will give you a good idea of whether you would like us to work together.

If you decide to move forward and book a first session- It will give us an opportunity to look at the reasons for why you are seeking counselling, put a brief counselling contract in place, discuss boundaries and confidentiality.
