About me and my therapy practice

I have completed my degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and I am a registered with the BACP. I have completed further training in Mentalisation Based Therapy, Group Analytic and Compassion Focused Therapy. In my integrative approach, I draw on different areas of therapies depending on your current needs within a coherent framework for positive change.

Practice description

With 20 years of experience working in NHS mental health services, including extensive work within forensic and HM Prison settings, I am currently a Psychotherapist and Specialist Practitioner in a dedicated NHS service for Personality Disorders and Complex Trauma.

Our life experiences shape our emotional lives, influencing our thoughts and reactions as adults. Because each individual's experiences are unique, so too are their outcomes. We often find ourselves repeating unproductive behaviours or struggling to control aspects of ourselves, without understanding the root cause.

Psychotherapy offers a path to understanding and resolving these issues. It fosters awareness of our inner world and its impact on both past and present relationships, distinguishing itself from other therapies by aiming for deeper, more fundamental change in personality and emotional development.

By exploring how past experiences influence current relationships, psychotherapy can build self-confidence, improve relationships, and enhance overall well-being. I deeply value each client and the therapeutic relationship we develop. Recognising the unique circumstances that have shaped each individual's life, I utilise attachment theory to cultivate safe and supportive relationships that facilitate personal growth and development.

I am currently offering in person and remote psychotherapy sessions a couple of minutes walk from Liverpool Street Station in Central London. Sessions will last for 50 minutes, and are open ended.

My first session

I offer all prospective clients a free 15 minute telephone consultation to see how I may be of service to you. Then depending on our availability we can arrange an initial 50 minute session.

The initial session is an opportunity to see how we can work together, explore your expectations and desired outcomes for therapy, and for you to ask any questions you may have regarding the process. Offering you a safe space to be seen and heard is my top priority.
