About me and my therapy practice
I support young people through difficult times and help them flourish. Together, we make sense of issues concerning school, relationships, friends, family, academic results, self-esteem, fear of the future, anxiety, anger, confusion or loss. I help them connect, feel meaningful and develop resilience.
I welcome open-ended/long term therapy as well as short-term therapy (minimum 6 sessions).
I have a practice in Teddington (Greater London) where I can meet young people face-to-face and straight talk. The sessions are generally 50 minutes long. If so inclined, we can experiment using the arts (music, poetry, painting, drawing, clay, role-play...) to explore and express complex feelings.
I am also an experienced on-line and telephone counsellor. Over 30 or 40 minute sessions, we can unpack difficult issues.
As mentioned above, I welcome open-ended/long term therapy as well as short-term therapy (minimum 6 sessions).
My first session
As a result of Covid-19, I 'meet' young people for a first session over video call (zoom, facetime...). I also speak to their parent(s) unless the young person is old enough to contract on their own.
During this call, we will explore what has brought the young person to therapy and how therapy can help. After this introductory session, if the young person wishes to see me in therapy, we will have an initial 6 sessions. Afterwards, we can discuss continuing with open ended therapy or short-term therapy (an agreed number of sessions).
