About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative child and adolescent psychotherapist (MA) (attachment, psychoanalysis, neuroscience) with experience working with a range of difficulties including family relationships, friendships, school, bullying, identity, sense of self, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, anger, trauma.
I help parents gain insight into what may be happening for their children and develop strategies going forward.
I support young people through difficult times and help them flourish. Together, we unpack complex issues and make sense of them. I help them connect, feel meaningful and develop resilience.
I also support children with emotional regulation and development. I help them process difficult feelings. I am also an experienced play and art therapist.
In my private practice, I consult face-to-face (subject to lockdown rules) and by video conference (zoom or other secure platforms).
I have a premises in Teddington (Greater London - Richmond-on-Thames) for face-to-face sessions. Subject to lockdown rules, I can meet face-to-face outdoors in Bushy Park. I may also do home visits.
The sessions are 50 minutes.
I offer parent consultations to help parents make sense of what may be happening for their child and explore strategies going forwar.
I provide children and young people open-ended/long term therapy as well as short-term therapy (minimum 6 sessions).
Testimonials about my work:
Marion has been working in our school for 5 years counselling children and working with parents, teachers and school management to create an environment that is aware, consistent, boundaried and nurturing to help children feel supported. As a result, children are better able to navigate challenges, learn and reach their full potential.
We have seen children, whom Marion has counselled, grow in confidence. They were better able to cope with their difficult feelings. They discovered their strengths. They developed new behavioural strategies. They enjoyed more fulfilling relationships and friendships. As a result, their school results significantly improved.
Marion works closely with all stakeholders. She gives insights into child emotional development and adult psychological dynamics to understand and address puzzling situations. Mindful of confidentiality, Marion explores strategies with parents, teachers, school staff and management, to help children emotionally regulate and in turn help them embrace friendships and enjoy learning.
We commend Marion’s high standards of professionalism and ability to make children’s complex and challenging emotional worlds understandable and compelling.

My first session
In an initial consultation, I explore with the parent(s) or the young person if psychotherapy would be the right fit. We talk about what brings them to therapy. We discuss what would best support the child or young person given their presenting issue. I explain what psychotherapy is and how I work.
