About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling down, lost, fearful or worthless - about work, relationships, social life- or maybe you're struggling to overcome a trauma in your life?

I am here to help.

I will listen to your story, help you express feelings and thoughts and make sense of them; assist you in finding common themes and meanings behind the words, help you clarify and express what you truly want from your life. I will also aid you to recognise unhelpful patterns and obstacles that get in the way of what you want for yourself and release them, if needed, and ultimately change your circumstances. It will be you that will make the choices and make all that happen. My role is to support and guide you to your innate resilience, hope and capacity for change.

I will listen to your story with kindness and in total confidence. I understand it takes a leap of faith to get in touch - I want you to know that I can help you connect with the deepest parts of you that know the way forward.

I am an experienced person-centred counsellor with a specialism in inner relationship Focusing - a body-oriented process of self-awareness and emotional healing which involves listening to your body in a gentle accepting way and hearing the messages that your inner self is sending you. With a Focusing approach, I can help you resolve stuck patterns of thinking, deal with critical voices and address difficulties from your past.

Practice description

I believe the most important element for therapy to be successful is the relationship between client and therapist and the trust developed between them that allows the work to take place. My approach is, therefore, relational: I provide a therapeutic relationship which supports you to examine your experience and feelings, learn strategies for coping, enhance your agency and will, develop resilience and explore your options for change.

My first session

It’s normal to feel anxious about meeting a therapist for the first time. Our first 15 minute free initial consultation, either on the phone or online would be a chance for you to hear a bit more about how I work, and crucially, for you to get a sense of whether you feel comfortable with me and whether we would be a good match. Please do call or email for more info.
