About me and my therapy practice
**** I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ON ANY NEW CLIENTS AT THE MOMENT ****
Currently offering on-line sessions via Skype or Zoom, or "walk & talk/outdoor therapy" only.
I appreciate that counselling can feel daunting so to help ease any concerns I offer a warm, friendly welcome and a safe and confidential place where I will listen, encourage and support you. I recognise that it can take time to trust someone with your thoughts and feelings so you choose what to discuss and when.
To be really listened to, understood and valued for the unique person that you are can be a powerful experience.
I feel passionate about my work: helping others to help themselves, investing in themselves and their own futures. I believe that we all have that innate drive to become who we were meant to be and that we have the inner resources needed to get there, but we often lose sight of this through life's experiences and social conditioning. Working with a counsellor can help you re-discover your true self, helping you grow as a person and to feel more empowered.
I work with a variety of concerns and have a particular interest in working with trauma-related issues.
As an Integrative Counsellor I work from several different theories, enabling me to adapt the work to suit your individual needs.
What happens now?
If you would like to book an appointment please email/call me. Or you can call for a brief chat first if you prefer. During the first session we can decide if we are a good "fit" and you can ask any questions you have. If you would then like to continue we can book a second session.
If you would like to know more about the "walk and talk/outdoor therapy" (which works well with social distancing) do please contact me.
My practice is in Corsham, has wheelchair access and free parking.
My practice is in a lovely welcoming counselling room on the edge of Corsham with access to some lovely walks in nature if you would prefer to try the "walk & talk" therapy.
My first session
This first session gives us both the opportunity to see if we can work well enough together, to see if you feel comfortable working with me and for me to be able to check that I can provide the right support for you.
I will explain how I work and what you might expect from our work together as well as finding out from you what you hope to get from counselling. It also gives you a chance to ask me any questions about counselling.
We will also be filling out some brief paperwork (ie. contact details etc).
At the end of the session there is no obligation for you to return if you do not wish to; I appreciate that many people like to meet with several therapists before settling on the one they feel is right for them.
If you would like to continue meeting with me we can go on to book a second session together.
