About me and my therapy practice
My name is Clinton Raminhos
I am a registered psychotherapeutic counsellor working with individual adults and couples in private practice, offering short-term, medium-term and open-ended therapy depending on what you would like to get out of our work together.
Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy provides you with a unique space to focus on yourself, to reflect on and gain insight into your experiences. Together we will work to make meaning and understand the root cause of what is troubling you and understand how this is impacting your life, thoughts and feelings in the here and now.
Couples Counselling provides a space to explore difficulties experienced within your partnership. Our work would be focused on your relationship although the partners should expect self-exploration as we work to learn about how you relate to each other. At times couples may be considering ending their relationship and pursue minimising conflict.
Counselling and Psychotherapy can help with
- Breaking out of self-defeating patterns
- Dealing with anxiety, panic, stress or depression
- Dealing with bereavement or loss which comes in many forms
- Developing your self-belief and self-esteem
- Exploring issues such a sexual identity
- Exploring and defining your boundaries and learning to say no
- Finding and understanding yourself
- Learning to manage your anger
- Sleeping better and being able to relax
- Working on your relationship with yourself and others
I provide a confidential, supportive and non-judgemental environment where together we can work to make meaning of what is going on for you.

My first session
Thinking about starting therapy might be daunting and you might wonder what to expect from the first session.
Essentially it gives you the chance to see whether we would work well together. You may choose to say what brings you to therapy. I usually explain my approach to therapy and do my best to answer any questions you may have. I will also ask some questions about you, what brings you to therapy and what your initial worries are.
At the end of the first session we can agree to work together, or you may choose to think things over in your own time.
