About me and my therapy practice
I understand that life can be hard for many different reasons, and at times we can feel overwhelmed. Sometimes it isn't until we notice the impact it has on our relationships, work and undertaking day to day tasks that we start to notice that it's just getting too tough!
You may be taking medication but the core beliefs, cognitive thoughts and patterns of behaviour remain the same.
Maybe it was childhood experiences, losing a special person, breakdown of relationship, struggling with anxiety, depression or generally not liking yourself very much....
I am here to provide you with the safe space to facilitate your journey of healing, discovery and learning to love and accept yourself.
Let us work together to process the emotional material that you do not wish to carry anymore.
I offer a holistic approach when working with you as my belief is that we are all complex individuals and there is no 'one size fits all'. At times, life can get tough for many of us and therapy can be a positive decision.
With this in mind, I draw on other theories to suit your needs and way of interacting. Fundamentally you will find my approach is based on building a warm, respectful and trusting relationship that feels safe and secure. You will have the space to explore how you are feeling without judgment and with acceptance.
I cannot offer advice, however my aim and hope, is that by working together I can facilitate your emotional development, helping you to make sense of who you are and what choices you would like to make in order to live a fulfilled life.
I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in Nottinghamshire, who has experience in working with adults within the voluntary and health sector.
My first session
Prior to booking our first session, I like for us to have an initial consultation which is free and lasting up to 30 minutes.
This gives me an opportunity to understand a little more of what you would like to bring to therapy and what your goals might be. It also provides you an insight into me and how I work, helping you to decide if I am the right therapist for you.
I can tell you more about my values and beliefs and if I feel that I cannot provide you with the support you need then I will sign post you to another therapist and/or agencies.
