About me and my therapy practice
I am trained as Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor with BSc (Hons) in Psychology and I am just finishing a MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
The combination of this training allows me to work flexibly with my clients. I use the core conditions of empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence to build a safe non-judgemental space for my clients to start to explore what is happening to them emotionally.
CBT offers the tools to explore my client’s thoughts, linking it to their emotions and behaviours. Through a collaborative process we start to challenge old ways of thinking by finding an alternative thought, testing the belief and starting the process of change.
I am offering sessions over zoom at present due to Covid. In more normal times I see clients from home or in Oxford.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute consultation.
It can be hard reaching out for help and it is very important to find a therapist that you feel comfortable working with.
All sessions are 50 minutes.
The first session is an assessment where we work together for me to understand what brings you to therapy. We then decide how I can support you through the therapeutic process and how we will work together. All sessions are confidential.
