About me and my therapy practice

Hello I'm Jane and I am an integrative counsellor based in Kingsteignton near Newton Abbot.

If you are reading this then you have already taken the most difficult step as you have decided to seek help and support with whatever it is that you are dealing with.

If we work together then I will hold a safe space for you to explore whatever issues you wish to bring and work with you towards the goals and outcomes you most want to achieve. I will do this in a non judgemental, holistic and empathic way, respecting your choices and with complete confidentiality.

I pride myself on placing all persons at the heart of my work and supporting people in making independent choices with their lives.

I started training some years ago attending Bridgwater college completing foundation and intermediate counselling courses and I then went on to attend the Dartmoor Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy where I qualified in the Advanced Diploma in Counselling. After this I also completed the Diploma in Sandplay, the Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Certificate in Couples Counselling.

Since then I have worked in private practice and I also used to oversee a counselling service in a local charity.

I have an extensive working background in statutory organisations including local authority and the NHS. I have worked with people from all walks of life from all different backgrounds and all ages for the past 20 plus years.

Practice description

I can offer you a calm and comfortable space where we can meet, with accessible free parking on a bus route.

My fee for an individual is £50 per 1 hour session.

My first session

On the first session I will take your details and discuss a working contract between us with you, this will be outside of your 1 hour session.

I will then get an overview from you on what is going on in your life and we will take things from there and you can then decide if you wish to proceed.

The way the therapy works is for us to build a good therapeutic relationship together based on trust, where you feel comfortable and heard.
