About me and my therapy practice
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor working with adults. I provide a containing, safe space to help you talk and explore difficult thoughts and feelings, and to reflect on past and present experiences. I will listen to you attentively, and together we will work to try to understand how issues you may be struggling with, or unhelpful patterns of behaviour, may connect to previous experiences. Through this work in developing a greater awareness and understanding of who you are you may be able to bring about change.
I have experience of working with issues such as anxiety, depression, loss and grief, relationship difficulties and issues relating to sexuality. I have worked in the charitable sector, with university students, and in the private sector. I work with all ages and income levels and I can offer short (6-12 weeks) or longer term work according to your preference and needs. I am a registered member of BACP and I abide by its ethical code of practice. I am also registered with BPC
My first session
If you send me an email I will get back to you as soon as possible to arrange a short telephone call which can be followed by an initial meeting. Our first session will be a 50 minute consultation to find out more about what has drawn you to counselling and what you are hoping to gain. We can decide if this way of working is right for you and if we feel we can work together. If we decide to continue we will meet weekly at the same time for 50 minutes. My private practice is based in Islington, North London.
