About me and my therapy practice
At different points in our lives, we might find ourselves feeling distressed, lost, unsure, overwhelmed or stuck. We may feel sad or anxious or feel that we have lost our way and our motivation. We might feel as if we are carrying a heavy weight from the past which could be creating a barrier to enjoying healthy relationships with family or work.
As an experienced integrative therapist, I draw on many approaches and work with relational depth and creativity to explore the present difficulties. My approach is built on a foundation of calm and quiet patience and compassion, whilst holding the belief that by working together in a safe non-judgemental space, we can explore thoughts feelings and behaviours and create a time for reflection. This in turn will develop a deeper awareness and understanding and enable the opportunity for change and growth.
My role as a Registered Nurse has provided me with life experience and a valuable lens through which I have witnessed the psychological and physical impact of trauma and loss. My experience of nursing in the Army during the Falklands Conflict and Northern Ireland informed my work as a counsellor whilst working for a Charity with Veterans and their families.
My first session
I aim to offer a calm space to anyone who feels they need gentle support and understanding and some quiet time for reflection when the clatter and chaos of life feels too much to carry alone.
I work with Adults and older Adults and offer sessions at a reduced rates to Service Veterans.
I offer Rewind Trauma Therapy.
My practice is currently online or telephone due to the Covid 19 restrictions.
