About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor based in Vauxhall, South London and am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy (MBACP). As an integrative therapist, I draw on a number of different therapeutic approaches including psychodynamic and person-centred theories, but most importantly look to develop a therapeutic relationship that will support you in your journey.
As a counsellor, I have experience working in a number of different therapeutic organisations supporting both adults and young people with a wide range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, loss and abuse. As well as private practice, I have worked as a counsellor in the NHS and school settings.
Having previously worked in the private sector, I later changed career paths to focus on addressing education disadvantage. I have worked in a number of different educational settings supporting both young people and their families in challenging situations and moments of crisis with a focus on supporting young people with complex behavioural and special educational needs.
Practice description
In working together, I will support you in making your own steps along your therapeutic journey and personal development. I provide an open and understanding space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings about either historic or current issues. I acknowledge the differences in the individual and their experiences and as such am responsive to working in a way that supports your personal needs. Counselling can be challenging but also very rewarding, and so I will work with you wherever you are within your own journey so that you feel safe and supported.
My first session
Whether completely new to counselling or returning after a break, taking the first step can be daunting. I am happy to arrange a brief call to answer your questions and give you some insight into my way of working. If you feel like I am the right fit for you, we can then arrange an initial session.
