About me and my therapy practice
The most important part of starting therapy is to feel truly ready to seek the help you deserve. This applies to everyone, whether you are considering counselling for the first time, have experienced therapy in the past or have struggled to find a solution that feels right for you. Taking the first step is often the most difficult.
I appreciate that choosing a therapist can be an overwhelming and challenging task. Finding someone who will understand your experience, and that you feel comfortable speaking to, can be an intimidating process. To help make this easier, I offer a free telephone consultation, allowing you to speak to me directly and get a sense of the type of therapy I offer.
I am an integrative relational therapist who will adapt my practice to you. I choose to be integrative in my approach as I believe that the needs and story behind each individual are unique and a “one size fits all” ethos cannot be applied when it comes to counselling. Together we will find a style that works for you.
You may already have an understanding of your reasons for seeking therapy, or maybe you have reached a point where you know you are ready for support but aren’t quite sure why you feel the way you do. I can provide you with a safe space, where you can talk in a relaxed and informal way to explore what it is that brought you to therapy.
I can help you gain insight around your internalised beliefs, unconscious patterns and repeated behaviours that may dictate your life. With this awareness, you may find yourself empowered to make new autonomous decisions. While you explore your emotions at a pace that is right for you, I will listen without making any judgements, seeking to help you overcome barriers and make progress on your journey.
If you choose to have sessions with me, the amount of time you attend therapy is completely up to you. I enjoy working with people long-term to get to the root of what it is they are experiencing. I often work with clients who describe feeling left with a sense of “unfinished business” from previous short-term counselling and feel ready to explore themselves beyond a surface level.

My first session
Before we officially work together you would be welcome to have a free telephone consultation. This would give you the opportunity to have a chat with me about what you are looking for and ask any questions you may have. Having this call does not mean you are obliged to have therapy with me, it is there to help you make an informed decision on what to do going forward.
After this we would then have an initial assessment, this will help decide if I am the right therapist for you. There really is no other way of discovering this other than meeting me (virtually in the current circumstances). This session will involve an assessment so that I can understand you a little more and a chance to see if you would like to continue working with me.
