About me and my therapy practice
The therapy I offer can be with/without a therapy pet during the session. The first half hour is FREE then to continue on to assessment you pay £25 assessment fee plus the advance counselling fee £35 to book in your next first session. Then sessions are paid weekly & for 60 minutes. I offer a comfortable private room, accessible for disabled people. Home visits considered.
I’m friendly, caring and empathic. I'm approachable and easy going, very motivated. Broad knowledge of Illness & impact of living with disabilities. I have a Nursing and Social Care,, background with adults, children & adolescents.
I’ve Counselled victims of domestic abuse, bereavement, child loss, loss of a pet, relationships, divorce, pregnancy, mother support, childcare and a vast array of mental Health like depression/Anxiety. Coaching help for other life issues include managing disability and illness like Fibromyalgia, help with benefits, job finding/CV writing, motivation, help building self esteem/confidence. I listen to without judgement, in the strictest confidence. The therapy is mainly Humanistic but can include other modalities, Like CBT helping with deeper empathic understanding and self discovery.
Animal Assisted therapy is available. and can help you Communicate & express yourself. The simple act of petting animals releases automatic relaxation responses & is proven to release serotonin, prolactin and oxytocin- all hormones that elevate moods, bringing great health benefits like lowering blood pressure, relaxation, relieving stress, building confidence, helping with self-esteem & relief of depression and anxiety. I mainly use cats and/or dogs within the therapy & have a robot cat for frail people.
