About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Judith, an experienced & qualified Counsellor and a Registered Nurse. My mission here is to offer you a safe and confidential space in which we can explore together what brings you to Counselling.
I have experience of working in the NHS as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years, in 2010 I gained an MSc in Counselling Psychology. My experience as a Counsellor began in 2007 where I spent nine years working in a NHS Staff Counselling Support Service, in 2016 I made the decision to move into Private Practice; Time Counselling Practice began.
Why Counselling
My decision to train as a Counsellor was driven by my nursing background. Working as a Registered Nurse in a busy NHS organisation. I noticed how there was a need to understand the relationship between how we view our health and how that is linked with our sense of who we are. Additionally, I had first hand experience of working in a large organisation and understand the stresses and pressures that can bring to the staff across the workplace. It seemed a natural progression for me to embark on my Counsellor training in a mission to be able to help others gain their own ‘life toolbox’; to feel more able and equipped to embrace life’s challenges and questions.
How does that view fit with you? Do you believe that through gaining an understanding around your life experiences, exploring what they might mean to you on an individual level, is a move to help you understand the reasons why you might be seeking counselling?
My aim here is to offer you a safe and confidential space where you feel understood and heard. We will work together to explore some of your life challenges that may be stopping you from being the person you believe you can be.
