About me and my therapy practice

We all go though times in our lives when it feels tougher than normal or we've experienced one setback after another; and during this current crisis it can feel even harder to cope.

It's at these times that it can help to have someone to talk to.  Many people come to therapy at a point in their lives when they feel aimless, stuck or completely lost.  Personal growth is about understanding ourselves and the events that have shaped our lives, which in turn influence the decisions we make; affecting relationships, work, family life and friendships. I believe that therapy is a unique and extremely personal journey that can help to identify present thoughts or feelings. When we start to look at ourselves and understand our problems it can be an uplifting and inspirational experience but we can also feel that we are very alone in the journey.

I offer a safe, supportive and professional space where there is the freedom to discuss personal issues without being judged. The emphasis on the work will be to explore and untangle those issues that can often seem too complicated or overwhelming to deal with.  As a practitioner I am interested in your past experiences and how they may be affecting your life and relationships today. My role is to support and guide you as you explore how you have developed and we can look at how you can make changes so that as you move forward you do so as the best version of yourself.

I have worked as a Counsellor since 2009 and have experience of working within the NHS mental health sector and charitable counselling organisations.  I work with adults with a wide range of issues for short or long term counselling.

Practice description

I have a comfortable and private room in SE17 and there are many local bus routes nearby along Old Kent Road or Thurlow Street.  Elephant and Castle and Borough are the nearest underground stations.

My first session

It can be difficult to find the time to engage with the therapeutic process and even planning the first contact can bring anxiety issues to the surface, however it might be the start of seeing some change in your life.

The goals we work towards will be discussed and agreed at the start with the aim of understanding and empowering you to enhance your life.

I offer an initial consultation session at half my normal fee and this will give you the chance to discuss the things on your mind and see how we might work together.
