About me and my therapy practice
When looking for support, you may have a starting point or already know what they would like to talk about. Especially if your emotions, thoughts and interactions are affecting your daily activities or those around you. Alternatively, you could feel unclear, have a tendency to minimise the issue or just feel completely overwhelmed.
Regardless of how you came to be here, counselling can help.
My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, and non-judgment. I strive to create a professional relationship built on trust and collaboration, where clients feel seen, heard, valued and understood. Whatever is brought to session(s) is held and taken at their pace.
My purpose is to provide a safe, supportive and confidential environment via telephone or online for clients to explore their inner worlds, heal emotional wounds, discover a greater sense of self, and thrive in relationships. I am deeply passionate about helping people and their relationships navigate life's challenges.
I also understand that when working relationally with two people every partnership is unique, with its own set of challenges and dynamics therefore, my role is to create a validating opportunity where both partners can build on their communication, openly express their concerns to each other and work together to find solutions.
Practice description
I tailor my approach to meet the pace, specific needs and goals of individuals and relationships.
I believe that life events, childhood experiences, past and current interactions, self-reflection and awareness are catalysts for clients to explore, gain insight, build self-esteem, improve intimacy, communication, and the confidence to make decisions, create choices and look to the future with a positive outlook.
I am deeply committed to creating a non-discriminatory and inclusive therapeutic environment, where individuals and relationships from all backgrounds, abilities and identities feel welcome and respected. I recognise the importance of cultural sensitivity and strive to integrate each client's unique and personal experiences into the therapeutic process.
For over 30 years, I have continued to support others through both paid and volunteer work. Previous roles have included coaching, mentoring and training, for individuals and both small and large groups within the private and voluntary sectors.
