About me and my therapy practice
When looking for support, you may already have a starting point to what you would like to talk about. Especially if your emotions, thoughts or interactions are affecting your day to day life or those around you.
Alternatively, your thoughts may be unclear or you have noticed an issue that never gets resolved and is minimised and regularly “brushed under the carpet.”
My approach is rooted in compassion and non-judgment, as there are so many reasons why we each navigate our lives both consciously and unconsciously through patterns and ways of being. Some, of which will have begun before we even came along and then would only become evident through therapy.
This is why my aim is to create a professional relationship built on trust and collaboration, where you feel seen, heard and valued, in whatever you bring to sessions to explore, understand and provide yourself with the resources and opportunities at your pace, for both during and beyond our sessions.
Therefore, it is my purpose to provide you with a safe and confidential environment via telephone and or online for you to explore your inner world, heal past and current hurt, discover a greater sense of self, and thrive in the relationship with yourself and those around you to navigate life's challenges.
I also understand that when working with two or more people in sessions via video link for couples and relationship counselling has its own set of dynamics and challenges.
So my role is to create and facilitate an opportunity where all participants can openly express their concerns during the sessions, gain useful tools, promote sustainable communication and the foundations to build on, long after the therapy has come to an end.
Practice description
I tailor my approach to meet your pace, specific needs and goals of you and your relationships.
I believe that life events, childhood experiences, past and current interactions, self-reflection and awareness are catalysts to explore, gain insight, build self-esteem, improve intimacy, communication, and the confidence for you to make informed decisions, create choices and look to the future with a positive outlook.
I am deeply committed to creating a non-discriminatory, creative and inclusive therapeutic environment, where individuals and relationships from all backgrounds, abilities and identities feel welcome and respected. I recognise the importance of cultural sensitivity and strive to integrate each your unique and personal experiences into the therapeutic process.
For over 30 years, I have continued to support others through both paid and volunteer work. Previous roles have included coaching, mentoring and training, for individuals and groups within the private and voluntary sectors.
As a neurodivergent individual myself and qualified therapist, I provide an inclusive and validating practice to those who may have struggled in the past, to feel truly seen and understood in traditional spaces.
By collaborating with you to feel comfortable, my aim is then to help you explore and identify the emotional patterns and relational dynamics, that have so far shaped, continue to direct and impact you in your daily life. Including with those around you.
That is why I make it your choice in how we connect, either by telephone, video link or both, in the hope that you are able to feel a level of comfort during our sessions.
For example - turning off your screen, using the chat function, moving about the room/building or being creative during on our call.

About me and my therapy practice
As a neurodivergent individual myself, therapist and supervisor, I provide an inclusive and validating practice where my aim is to then help you explore and identify the emotional patterns and relational dynamics between you and your clients, in addition to your therapeutic work and ongoing learning.
I also make it your choice in how we connect, either face to face, telephone, video link or a combination of each, and especially if you work in these different formats with your clients, in the hope that you are able to feel a level of comfort and continue to thrive during your supervision sessions.

My first session
Our first contact is usually a chat over the phone to establish our professional compatibility. For example - client groups, modalities, location etc.
If you are then happy to schedule in a first session, I would then email you some documentation, such as contact form, draft working agreement and privacy policy for you to view and contact me for any additional information or questions.
Once I have received your consent to proceed, your first session is then booked and payment is due 48hrs prior to the start time.
