About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced and professional individual and relationship therapist and systemic practitioner. Practicing since 2008 in London, Brighton and Hove, UK, I presently support clients online.

• You may experience low mood, difficulties in forming and maintaining relationships, reproductive issues, a complex relationship with food and body image, an uncertain fear of social situations, of perceived negative events, of failure or illness. Or you may feel an overwhelming sense of shame or confusion about gender identity or sexual orientation, a lacking sense of belonging or find yourself avoiding intimacy.

• Your relationship can feel burdened by resentments, lacking intimacy or trust and communication may have become difficult. As a result, conflict becomes unmanageable. Couples may consider separation or divorce when they feel stuck in unhelpful interactions and patterns.

Whether I work with individuals or with relationships, I believe that therapy is often about questioning stories which we tell ourselves, the narrative about who we are or who we should be. Therapy is a place of warmth and safety, where you can be yourself and where change can happen.

My training as counsellor and psychotherapist is integrative. This means that I do not subscribe to one way of working with my clients. Instead, I am enabled to integrate different modalities into the therapy, depending on what you wish to focus on in therapy and where you want to get to.

With an additional degree in Applied Systemic Theory, my approach to therapy pays attention to the context of a person as well as to the feelings of a person.

Practice description

In my practice, I work with couples (relationships) and with individual clients.

Developing a trusting, warm and reliable therapeutic relationship, which is empathic and authentic, is important to me. You will be listened to without judgment and in the spirit of support. My style of therapy is interactive, and I aim to support you in building confidence and resilience.

Change can be achieved in many ways; by

• Identifying what is important to you

• Feeling heard and accepted

• Reflecting on, learning about yourself to find self-acceptance and self-validation in your present context

• Taking agency of your decisions

• Rediscovering your own resilience

• Practicing different behaviour

• Shifting in how you perceive situations which are troublesome for you.

My first session

The first session will be an initial consultation. We will discuss what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. It is the first connection between us and as such might cause you to worry about feeling exposed.

I feel not ask you to share what you feel uncomfortable talking about, you alone determine what feels right. The first step is always the most difficult. It is also the start of a new chapter and therapy means that you do not walk this journey alone.

At present, the sessions take place on Zoom.

Your context is particular to you; family and upbringing, friendships, aspirations, expectations, the colour of your skin, gender, cultural background, class, sexual orientation. The distinct privileges and disadvantages everyone encounters matter in how we experience life and how our identity, actions and responses are shaped.
