About me and my therapy practice

I have over 10 years experience and strongly believe that positive relationships are key to growth and well-being. I provide a safe, non judgemental and confidential space for people to address their issues, be it relationship problems, trust, stress, anxiety, depression, ill health, loss, low self worth and more.

I am a BACP registered counsellor and a Relate trained Practitioner, as well as having studied Psychology in Buenos Aires and having an MA (Interactive Narratives as a Tool for Change). After years of work at Relate, with over 10,000 contact hours seeing individuals, couples and young people, I am confident I deliver a service that works.

What some Clients have said about my work:

"Judicious, quick, bright, generous and altruistic" MFM

"I totally recommend Claudia. She is ethical, engaged and passionate about her work as a Counsellor" BS

"She helped me in my journey from victim to thriver" MN

"There were so many situations which I felt I navigated so much better than I could have a year ago, thanks to your guidance and help. This has also been the least anxious year I’ve had for such a long time – and I feel really proud of all this progress. So thank you so much for everything ! " LC

I recognise that finding the right counsellor is key to achieving the outcome you would like. Therefore, I offer a free initial consultation. This is an opportunity for you to meet and decide if you would like to work together (please note free initial consultations are online and are 30' long). The counselling session lasts 50'.

My private practice is close to York City Centre and near to bus and rail routes. Above all, it is close to the river and I always recommend a walk along the bay!

Practice description

I provide a confidential, non judgemental space for clients to explore their issues safely.

My practice is person centred, as well as integrative, incorporating psychodynamic and systemic theories. CBT, TA, Life Coaching and ART Therapy can also be thrown into the mix, depending on the client's needs.

In couples counselling, the relationship is the patient and the couple is the client. Based on what the client brings into the room, my style is interventionist, with the aim of equipping them with a toolkit to better cope with life's challenges.

The Initial Assessment is a free of charge 30' long session for independent clients, designed to find the best avenue of help for you, as well as giving you the opportunity to meet me and check whether you feel the therapeutic relationship would work for you.
