About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist. My approach is person-centred, which means I respect the ability within all of us to grow and change to be who we fully are given the right growth conditions for us to do this.
Clients come to see me about all sorts of things. It could be you're in a crisis of some kind, maybe a relationship break up, a bereavement or an issue with someone that's really affecting your self confidence. It could be that you're making a significant change in your life.
Whatever it is you will find a safe space where you will have the freedom to do what you need to do.
"I felt I could be jumbled up and you could still follow and understand me. What a relief." MM
This is a unique kind of relationship. Importantly you will not be judged and so you'll discover that you can express those emotions we're not 'supposed' to express. Because of this, when you are ready, you can allow yourself to trust the space more. We will go at a pace that is comfortable for you.
My aim will be to be to stay in tune with how you are feeling and to connect with your experience.
In this way you can move around easily and explore how you are feeling. It's simple, yet it can have a powerful effect. Once you are able to move freely in your experience emotions surface, new understanding emerges and with this movement comes change that allows you to move forward.
I have my private practice at the North London Buddhist Centre near Highbury & Islington underground station. This is a very welcoming place and fits with my interests in Tai Chi, Alexander Technique and Shiatsu that recognise the importance of how we connect as a whole, body and mind together.
I also like to do some voluntary work in my local area. My most recent projects include working with a bereavement service and an addiction recovery service.
Feel free to contact me for further information.
