About me and my therapy practice

Have you lost someone and are struggling to process their absence in your life? Are you finding it difficult to give yourself space to grieve? Perhaps “grief” feels like a shameful word to you.

Or maybe you are wondering why your relationships with friends, family, romantic partners or colleagues feel so strained. Perhaps you would like to understand your patterns of behaviour and break some unhealthy cycles by compassionately looking back at your past and possible childhood trauma.

Acknowledging that you would like support during life's difficult challenges is the first brave step. And often we are unaware that these challenges can arise not only from dealing with a bereavement, but also from not having had the space to grieve what we didn’t get in childhood.

Whether it be struggling to come to terms with your grief, battling bouts of anxiety and depression or recognising that you feel a little lost and would like to work on general self-development, let's journey together on your path of loss, self-exploration and re-discovery.

Or perhaps you would like some emotional support for your child or teenager. I use a variety of creative techniques to understand your child’s inner world, whilst boosting confidence, self-awareness and supporting their individual emotional needs.

Practice description

I am an integrative psychotherapist, working with children, adolescents and adults. “Integrative” means I use a variety of techniques and modalities to journey with you in therapy.

With my background in law, I have had over 15 years' experience working with vulnerable adults, teenagers and children, providing mental health support within criminal defence, housing and schools, as well as providing counselling services within schools and the charity sector. I am currently working as a secondary school therapist seeing students and staff, as well as working privately with adults.

With adults, I specialise in bereavement and intergenerational trauma i.e. trauma passed down through family generations.  I work psychodynamically, which means working with you on nurturing your inner child by looking at how your past childhood experiences have shaped your unconscious beliefs, feelings and patterns. I also work transpersonally, using guided meditation as a means of connecting with yourself and your body, especially during times of loss. I am a believer in journeying with you and exploring your inner world at your pace.

With children, the creative techniques I use to connect with and understand them include sandtray therapy, art based techniques, play therapy, mindfulness and talking therapy. I encourage working alongside parents/care-givers in reflective sessions, compassionately exploring their insights and how their past might be impacting their present life with their child.

I work out of three therapy practices and and also offer online sessions.

Finchley Central - adults and teenagers

Islington - adults and teenagers

Mill Hill - adults, teenagers and children

My first session

When I work with children or teenagers, the first session is always an assessment session with parents/caregivers, in order to take a complete history and to understand your child's experiences from your perspective.

With all clients, payment for the first session is always in advance of the session, following a 10-15 minute introductory call. If you would like to keep working with me after the first session, I ask for payment in advance on a monthly basis. In order to see any change, I recommend a minimum of between 3 and 6 months of therapy.
