About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified, experienced counsellor/psychotherapist seeing clients in SE1 and SE22.

I can help you learn to understand and accept yourself, whilst also exploring ways to implement healthy changes. Together we will increase our insight and awareness into the way you feel and act. This process will enable you to have more control over your thoughts and actions, as well as strengthening the way you to relate to, and connect with, other people.

I combine psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive behavioural techniques. We will begin by establishing a strong therapeutic relationship. I will listen to you with empathy and respect. I offer a safe, confidential space, in which you can express your most challenging thoughts without fear of being judged.

We will explore how your life experiences have shaped the beliefs, thoughts and assumptions that you have about yourself and the world. Our deepest held beliefs often sit outside our conscious awareness. As you become more aware of them you will have the opportunity to update, or let go of, those which are no longer serving you. This will allow you to change current thought-patterns and behaviours. As well as working with you on issues that are affecting you in the present, I will teach you strategies to use in the future.

I trained at Greenwich University to master’s level (MSc) in Therapeutic Counselling and psychology at degree level at the University of Newcastle (BS, hons). I offer long and short-term therapy. As well as offering private work, I work for a large London teaching hospital, where I see clients, and coordinate a small specialist NHS counselling service. I offer general therapy, and also specialise in Sex and Relationships therapy, in which I support clients with unhealthy relationship patterns, anxieties around sex, issues with drugs, alcohol, compulsive sexual behaviour and pornography use, matters relating to sexuality and adjustment to health diagnoses.
