About me and my therapy practice

Sometimes life can present difficult challenges. When that happens it's easy to feel confused, lonely, stuck and perhaps even judged. I can help you by providing a space for realisation, processing trauma and finding greater inner peace and freedom to live the life you wish for. I believe the most important relationship we have is with ourselves. Having self-compassion and being at peace with oneself self can be difficult to practice. I want to bring you hope and support you in becoming your own best friend.

I have had the privilege of working with some amazingly courageous clients; supporting victims of sexual abuse and trauma which can come in many guises; young people through the pressures of growing up; depression, anxiety, self-harm, eating disorders and break down in family relationships, working closely with couples.

I have a warm, caring approach and will work with you to find a way forward that is best for you in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment. Everyone is unique and therapy is different for every person, I will work with you to combine the most effective therapy for your individual needs.

Practice description

I work primarily with a model of therapy called Transactional Analysis which is first and foremost a therapeutic tool for positive change and growth.

Benefits of Transactional Analysis Counselling

  • It can increase self-awareness.
  • It promotes personal reflection.
  • It helps people find more effective ways to communicate.
  • It can help eliminate unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and actions.
  • It can help people take responsibility for their thoughts and actions.
  • It can be applied to many types of problems.

My first session

I offer a free 15 minute telephone chat, so that together we can briefly explore the background and history of your issues, your aims and objectives for counselling, your current life situation and how counselling might fit into it.

What can I expect from the first session?

A first session is an extension of our telephone consultation exploring your needs and wishes in therapy. There is no pressure for you to continue if it doesn’t feel right for you.

How often should we meet?

My clients usually attend weekly sessions. Having a regular appointment on the same day and time each week provides a safe, reliable space for you. However, some clients work shifts so I am always happy to work around my clients so they can benefit from therapy.
