About me and my therapy practice
Hi! I'm a UKCP and MBACP registered psychotherapist and psychotherapeutic counsellor. I have worked across NHS GP practices, universities and a variety of community services with adults facing a range of presentations. These include anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, loss and grief, gambling addiction, phobias, OCD and dealing with life crises. I am experienced in working with neurodiverse clients.
I passionately believe everyone is capable of change. I support clients to work through difficult situations, whilst building autonomy and the emotional resources for clients to enjoy their lives to the full.
My work is accessible and creative, tailored to the clients needs.
My approach is to put clients at ease and work together through the issues they present. I will help you build a collection of personal resources to help with self development and continuing resilience so that when therapy ends you feel confident and empowered.
I generally work Tuesdays to Fridays and can be flexible around your needs. I am available from any location as I work over zoom. I also provide face to face sessions in Brampton, Cumbria. Under reasonable adjustments I can occasionally provide home or hospital visits within the local area; or phone sessions when zoom or face to face is too difficult.
Clients are seen weekly or fortnightly as you and I agree. I always let clients know about dates in advance of holidays so we can plan ahead for it.
I am happy to discuss concessionary rates for students or those on a low income. I have a quota for this planned into my practice.
My first session
During the first session we will complete an assessment and get to know a little about each other, to ascertain the best way of working together. We will agree together the goals for our work and the frequency and initial number of sessions. At times certain tasks may be suggested between therapy sessions if it is thought helpful. The plan or ‘contract’ will be reviewed at regular intervals so we can work out together what we need to do.
