About me and my therapy practice

Due to the current extraordinary public health situation regarding the ongoing pandemic Covid-19. I am reviewing my way of working to ensure we all stay safe in accordance to best practice guidelines.

Therefore, I have taken the decision to offer sessions via audio visual links such as FaceTime/WhatsApp/Skype/Zoom and/or via telephone Call.

I am constantly reviewing the government guidelines and once this will be possible I will return to face to face sessions in my consulting room.

This is an unprecedented time, the coronavirus pandemic may affect us in all aspect of our life. Lock down, Isolation, the increases of death rate, the lost of loved ones, health’s consequences, job loss, and uncertainty might cause stress, anxiety, depression and bereavement difficulties in many people’s. I do think that having the right support is now more important than ever.

Thankfully to media, technology and internet we have now the possibility to continue therapy so people can still have access to the help they need.

Taking the decision to reach out and finding the right counsellor is a very important step in a person's life. I am passionate about giving people the supportive space they need to restore their equilibrium and explore what is important to them

Are you feeling depressed, anxious and unworthy; suffering loss, bereavement, abuse, or just wanting to make sense of the world and know yourself better? Counselling can help. As a psychotherapist my main concern is to provide you with an environment where you fell feel safe and accepted. A place where you can speak freely and reflect without been judged regardless of who you are.

A safe place where you can grow and blossom - I will not offer advice, but will offer a response appropriate to the material you have shared, perhaps offering a new perspective.

“One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful. “ Sigmund Freud.

Practice description

My approach is integrative.

What I like about integrative counselling is that it brings together different component of specific therapy, allowing me to be flexible and focus on the whole of an individual. By integrating different approaches I can adapt to meet individual needs and concerns. I have integrated some Humanistic and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy into my practice.

Humanistic

I will use the core condition to create a warm therapeutic relationship, providing in turn a safe holding environment - Everyone should be let to tell their story.

“The degree to which I can create relationships, which facilitate the growth of others as separate persons, is a measure of the growth I have achieved in myself.”

Carl R. Rogers, On Becoming a Person: A Therapist's View of Psychotherapy

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

Sometime our unconscious holds onto painful feelings and memories, which can be too difficult for the conscious mind to deal with. This approach can help can give you a better understanding of your issues and gain self-knowledge in addition to symptom relief.

“Tell me what you fear and I will tell you what has happened to you” Donald Woods Winnicott”.

My first session

I value each person as a unique being who is just trying to do the best they can using the resources that they have as they respond to the world around them in the way they have learn to subsist.

I enter every relationship with a deep sense of respect and compassion. I believe in the inherent potential growth in each of us.

As a psychotherapist my main concern is to provide you with an environment where you feel safe and accepted. A place where you can speak freely and reflect without judgement regardless of who you are. A Safe place where you can grow and blossom.
