About me and my therapy practice
If you’re reading this, it’s likely that you’re feeling the need - or desire - to seek some help and support in your life, and perhaps make some changes. You may have something specific that you are looking to change or gain help with, or it may be that you are feeling stuck and experiencing feelings of depression, anxiety, uncertainty and/or being overwhelmed. Counselling can, I believe be an incredibly valuable tool to help you, regardless of the issue.
I work as an integrative therapist, which means I am trained in and incorporate the 3 main proven psychotherapy approaches in my practice. These are Psychodynamic, Person Centred and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). I am therefore able to adapt the most beneficial aspects of these approaches to tailor my work to the needs of the individual client: after all, everyone is different and unique.
I believe relationships are at the heart of what it is to be human and so the core emphasis of my therapeutic approach is relational. I can work with you to explore the significant relationships in your life, whether that be with family or friends, work colleagues or partners, as well as the relationship you have with yourself.
It is essential that your counsellor is someone with whom you feel safe and able to share important parts of your life with, without fear or judgement, and I understand that this can be a difficult process. I am passionate about providing an open and safe environment for you so that you get the best out of our time together: in order to facilitate this, our initial meeting will be for you to get to know me and for us both to gain a sense of whether you feel comfortable with us working together to help achieve your desired outcomes.
