About me and my therapy practice

My professional experience is extensive and includes addiction, suicidal ideation, low self-esteem and domestic abuse. I have worked with the Survivors Trust and counselled survivors of rape, sexual abuse and childhood sexual abuse. I have also volunteered in prisons, counselling individuals with substance misuse, depression, anxiety, grief, relational problems and other mental health related issues. I currently work within an NHS Community Mental Health Setting, supporting individuals presenting in Crisis, with trauma and often under NHS Care Coordination

I am a person centred counsellor and I have worked with many people to help improve their mental health and wellbeing, often during very difficult and demanding times.

I offer a professional approach that is honest, empathic and non-judgemental. I am warm and patient and place a lot of value in people being given an opportunity to feel heard. Talking about your issues and concerns, being listened to in a counselling relationship offers a different way of looking at life and can bring about positive change, at any age.

Deciding to seek some support is a big step and finding the right counsellor for you is really important, so please feel free to get in touch, or make an appointment so that you can decide if I’m the right person for you to work with. This can provide you with the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and for me to explain a little more about how I work and what I can offer. You may prefer to have this conversation via telephone or email, which is absolutely fine.

I offer therapy online or over the phone, this is due to Covid-19.  There are new measures to take into consideration, this can be discussed on first contact to see  if this is suitable for your needs.

Home visits are also available for those people who are housebound, experiencing ill-health and disability or who have mobility issues.
