About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes we might feel that things are just getting too much, or we want to look at something specific which is bothering us. Counselling and psychotherapy can help us to find clarity by talking through these issues and thereby gaining a deeper understanding of ourselves, our feelings and needs. During our sessions I aim to provide a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore your issues.
I trained in an integrative approach, which uses the relationship between client and counsellor as the base for the journey together. Depending on the client I draw from different approaches, such as person-centred, mindfulness, cognitive and solution-focused theories, as I don’t believe that one approach fits all clients or all issues. I hold a Master degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of East London and regularly continue my training through courses and workshops to keep up to date.
Our first meeting is a chance for you to tell me more about what brings you to counselling and what you expect to get from it. It also gives me the opportunity to find out a little bit more about you and if we think we can work together.
If we decide to continue we can set a number of sessions or work with an open end. Sessions will usually be weekly at the same time, they last for 50 minutes and cost £65, although some concessionary rates are available for the unwaged, people on a low income or students. The initial meeting is £30. Cancellations of more than 48 hours notice will be charged at £30 and missed or cancelled sessions of less than 48 hours notice will be charged for at the usual rate.
