About me and my therapy practice
At present, all sessions are by Zoom or by phone.
I am an integrative, relational psychotherapist. Whatever your challenges, I believe that healing and transformation can occur within therapy when someone is alongside you to help make sense of them. My training is informed by a range of theoretical and therapeutic modalities, this means I am able to draw on different approaches, ideas and techniques according to your needs. I will be guided by your unique story and adapt the therapy to you, not you to the therapy.
Our work can facilitate you to:
- explore and understand your own experience and begin to confront and respond effectively to challenges that you face
- articulate and make meaning of unresolved feelings that relate to experiences in your past
- imagine new perspectives and facilitate shifts in your life
During our sessions, you can explore, experiment and allow things to emerge. You do not have to censor yourself or conform. You can voice difficult thoughts and connect to challenging feelings and parts of yourself that you might feel are unacceptable out in the world.
I believe that within a nurturing, responsive relationship, we all have the opportunity to grow and heal. Working relationally, providing this experience is at the heart of my practice. I offer a safe, contained environment and approach our work with warmth, openness and curiosity. I am not a silent, distant therapist, nor do I hide behind a “blank screen” stance. I will not judge or be shocked by what you bring to therapy. I aim to be alongside you, working at your pace but won’t be afraid to gently challenge you when necessary.
