About me and my therapy practice

Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD)

You are not alone!

Depression is a real illness with real symptoms. Depression is not a sign of weakness or something you can "snap out of" by "pulling yourself together". One in three people will suffer from depression during their life-time. Half of these people will only experience one bout of depression, the others less fortunate will experience episodic depression.

The good news is that with the right treatment and support, most people with depression can make a full recovery. Counselling can have a significant impact on depression through the provision of a safe, confidential environment, counselling for depression (PCE-CfD) helps you explore and understand the feelings that underlie depression. The aim of counselling for depression is to help you access those underlying feelings and make sense of them. It empowers you by developing new ways of looking at yourself and the world around you.

Dale Goulding  BACP Accredited Psychotherapist. PCE CfD has helped hundreds of people overcome emotional difficulties and achieve well-being.

Practice description

I specialise in the field of depression. I am a fully trained accredited Counsellor for Depression. MBACP Accred, PCE-CfD.

PCE-CfD is one of the psychological therapies recommended by IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) for the treatment of depression.  The evidence-based competence framework was developed by BACP and forms the basis of the IAPT National Curriculum for PCE-CfD.

My first session

The first session is a chance for us to meet and see if we can build a therapeutic relationship. That relationship will be the core of our work together. We will do an assessment and define therapeutic goals. We may complete some simple questionaries. Basically, define the way that we want to work together and what you want to achieve.
