About me and my therapy practice
My counselling practice is built on the relationship between you and I.
My role as a counsellor is to help you understand yourself better so you can identify your own challenges and find the resources and positivity needed to accept or change these.
I use a person-centred approach and am solution focussed in my style. This means I use a range of different theories and counselling techniques to provide you with a bespoke experience.
Counselling sessions can be a place to breathe, a place to verbalise new ideas and a place to recognise if and where change is needed.
I have experience working with adults and young people having worked in both social care and a counselling practice. I have expertise in working with children and adults who are Neurodivergent and can alter my counselling space to meet many sensory needs.
My current counselling space is not accessible as there are stairs so I offer online counselling and will consider home visits.
Beginning counselling can be daunting so please do contact me via phone, text or email if you have any questions.
Whether online or face to face each session is 50 minute long.
Sessions are led by you, they are your time, so you set the agenda.
My first session
Your first session will be a full 50 minute session.
The aim of the session is for me to understand your reasons for entering counselling at this time and for you to decide whether I am the person you would like to work with. Counselling is a therapeutic relationship that starts at this first session.
