About me and my therapy practice

I am open to new clients working on-line or by telephone.

What differentiates my work is the way in which I bring together my life experiences, my previous business career, over 17 years counselling experience and my ongoing professional training and am able to apply them to your situation. I follow the latest research and guidance, and blend this with my intuition, insight and empathy to help you, rather than following a pre-set programme.

My work is flexible, focused on each individual client. People may present with similar issues but what works with one client is often different to what works for someone else. I listen empathically to your situation and help you work out what is behind the difficulties that have brought you to counselling. We can then explore techniques that may help and the choices you face.

I am a Senior Accredited Member of BACP. I hold a Diploma in Counselling, an Advanced Certificate in Counselling Children, Young People and Families and a Post Graduate Certificate in AppliedPositive Psychology - the science of wellbeing. I have been counselling for over 17 years and have taken several specialist training courses, including 50 hours of CBT training and 30 hours in the therapeutic use of mindfulness.

I am approved by BUPA, Aviva, AXA/PPP, Vitality and many Employee Assistance Programmes

I work face to face, and by  Zoom Video Conferencing, which I can help you set up or by Skype and telephone.

Privacy Statement

I am registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office) which means I need to tell you what data I am collecting from you and what I intend to do with it. I am also a Senior Accredited  Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am bound by their ethical codes of Practice regarding the storing of client information and client confidentiality.

My first session

Our first session is for you both of us to see if we are happy working together.  I will explain how I work and explore what you are looking for. I will assess your situation and if we are happy to work together I will talk you through my agreement which I will ask you to sign.
