About me and my therapy practice
I'm an integrative therapist that uses my sensitivity to adapt my approach in line with the needs of my client, whilst adhering to the ethical and moral boundaries of the BACP professional framework. I work using person-centred conditions to build trusting professional relationships in a genuine way. I use the nuances of relational work to help the client explore more deeply. I adhere to psychodynamic theory and believe our past plays a key part in how we interact and negotiate the world in the present. I am attuned to help clients make these connections between their inner and outer worlds that can support them to better understand themselves, their reactions and behaviours when moving forward.
Work is lead at the client's pace, gently nudged and challenged when needed, to support clients in making any changes they have outlined.
In my private practice I provide long and short term counselling to adults. I also have experience in counselling children, young people and facilitating group therapeutic interventions. I am currently in additional training (KCL) post grad diploma in Systemic Family Therapy and also support young people and their families.
The relationships built between myself and my clients are key. I will check in with clients regularly to ensure work remains relevant and useful to them, and this is particularly relevant at present when we are having to be flexible and often work in surroundings that are changeable or nearby others at home.
My first session
I'm a creative and warm professional that understands asking for support can be difficult. Now more than ever, as most work moves online and so much externally is out of our control it is important that you feel supported in the way that you need.
I offer a free telephone consultation to talk with me before committing to sessional work. Please email any questions or queries you may have about starting counselling; the way I work or practical concerns. Covid protocol for my practice is emailed to you before work begins and must be adhered to.
Sessions can either be online (Zoom) or in person if you are unable to work online. My practice rooms are close to Dalston Kingsland station.
Sessions are 50 minutes each.
