About me and my therapy practice

I am an empathic experienced Senior Accredited Counsellor with the National Counselling Society offering a safe calming environment with a unique blend of counselling, well-being and learning. I specialise in supporting young people and adults with A.S.D traits, ADHD/ADD, and learning difficulties such as Dyslexia and Dyscalculia, as well as speech and language processing issues.

Life can be difficult, frustrating and lonely when you realise you think differently, having a chaotic mind can cause so many problems in our lives. I understand this that is why I mould my therapeutic approach that fits your world. I am totally respectful of each clients' uniqueness and fully understand the journey of self-discovery and healing is a lifelong commitment.

My personal journey has been painful and blighted and life changing. This is why I apply a powerful combination of counselling therapies such as person-centred, humanistic and psychodynamic, psycho-education and coaching because our journey is not an easy one. If you decide I have the right experience as a counsellor to support your life changing journey and you are commited to healing and transforming areas of your life. It's simple either email or call and together we can tackle and explore patterns in your emotions and thoughts, analysing your belief system to gain a deep insight into your current ‘Self’”.

Taking that first step can be difficult, I will make it easy for you..

Practice description

My ethos is simple, I take a holistic approach to counselling and well-being which can involve the whole family wherever possible. Our family support group supports parents whose life is different because of learning needs.

I am a Senior Accredited member with the National Counselling Society with  many years' experience working in the Independent and State sectors of education. I work closely with schools and other professionals in managing and developing coping strategies that best suite the client’s needs.

CV-19 has brought so many changes to young people's lives, isolation causing low mood and confusion over life prospects. Low mood symptoms and loss of confidence are just some of the areas deeply concerning to young people today. It is essential that we support them through these difficult times and sustain the hope of a brighter future for all.

I offer support on issues such as difficulties around A.S.D traits, anxiety, abortion, survivors of sexual abuse, OCD, domestic abuse: physical, emotional, financial and coercive behaviour, anger management, bereavement, bullying, eating disorders, gaming and gambling related self-harm/self-injury, menopause, trichotillomania (hair pulling), suicidal ideation, survivors of bereavement by suicide, relational issues, gender exploration, Non-Binary, lack of confidence and self-esteem. Health issues around long Covid e.g. brain fog and body changes.

I use a variety of therapeutic techniques such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), psychoeducation, meditation and mindfulness. I encourage self-management in developing skills that support our physical and emotional well-being.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a Senior Accredited member with the National Counselling Society with many years' of experience working with young people with learning needs and their families. I believe the role of the Supervisor should be inspiring, supportive, informative and challenging but most of all collaborative.

I use the Seven-Eyed model which was developed by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet. I feel this model works well with most theoretical approaches.

I work with members of BACP, NCS and other accredited bodies in the field of counselling or psychology and agree to apply our professioal bodies code of ethical practice to counselling supervision that we undertake together.

Practice description

I am aware of the dynamics and challenges when working with families and young people with learning needs, especially if you work in schools. As Counsellor's our case loads and safeguarding issues can be overwhelming but with my experience I can support and guide you in managing the best outcome for both you and your client.

My first session

In our first meeting we will explore if I am the right Supervisor for your work. If we agree then we can discuss our terms and contact.

Thank you for viewing my profile.
