About me and my therapy practice
I have an MA qualification in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Regents University. My approach is both integrative and existential.
Whilst acknowledging the givens of what it means to be human, I work with clients on how, inspite of these, we may carve out our own unique paths and find our way to deeper personal meaning, purpose, acceptance and above all peace of mind.
It is my belief that there is the ability within all of us, with help, to identify and to transcend our conditioning and patterns created in childhood, from society and beyond that may be holding us back form more joy, ease, and inspiration. My aim is to support my client in becoming more familiar with the wiser, mature and grounded part of themselves rather than being ruled by the reactive inner child. Identifying needs, boundaries, our hearts deepest desires, what we can change and what we must accept are all part of this work.
I have practiced yoga, meditation and breath work for a number of years and I support the burgeoning movement towards psychotherapy and psychedelics. In 2022, I completed my dissertation on the importance of a relationship with nature as an integral part of our own being.
I have a background in the art world, then the body with a BSc in Neuromuscular Therapy and Remedial Bodywork, and as a Bodycontrol Pilates instructor. I ran a small collective of studios for nearly 10 years which offered space and community for young, creative businesses as well as a yoga studio.
Ultimately I believe that transformation of our relationships to others, our work, our lives, begins with addressing, openly and honestly, our relationship with ourselves. Very few of us were taught how to be with painful or fearful feelings as children, how to be with ourselves with tenderness, grace and compassion especially in our darkest hours. This is the path to liberation. I have been on my own journey in this life and I love to help people on their’s coming back to themselves.
I work remotely via Zoom. It is best to keep to a set time weekly but I understand that unexpected commitments come up and I can be flexible within reason.
My first session
I offer the first session at half price and we can see if we are good fit for each other and would like to continue.
