About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified Counselling Psychotherapist with over a decade of experience. I support individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges, in Cambridgeshire and online.

I'm an integrative therapist trained in a number of approaches so I can tailor my support to your needs. My absolute favourite part of what I do is connecting with people and sharing their journey of transformation. Witnessing the bravery that people bring into therapy is something that really resonates with me. (Yes, even the people, or especially the people, that don’t think they are brave – you are).

It is very common to feel like you don’t know how counselling would help, and maybe it’s just how you are, and things will never change … I’ve worked with a lot of people, including providing therapy in a prison, and believe me things can (and do) change. It’s never too late to change your life.

Some of the areas I specialise in include depression, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, bereavement, redundancy, relationship problems, sexual problems, family problems, post-traumatic stress, addiction, abuse, and more.

Practice description

Counselling begins the journey of exploring and challenging how well you understand yourself and others around you.

It will give you the opportunity to examine the way you respond to people, how others respond to you, and empower you with the confidence to accept or change things in your life.

Sometimes we get to these stuck points and don’t know where to turn. We’ve used up all the coping strategies we know, and we are now exhausted!

Psychotherapy and counselling can help you to break through barriers and transform your life and relationships.

I am an integrative counsellor offering long- and short-term therapy giving you the opportunity to look at life generally or to focus on a specific issue.

Working empathically and in accordance with the BACP ethical framework, I pull on my experience using many theories, techniques and perspectives to listen to and support you as a unique individual.  You will find a safe space to be heard and understood, and to explore new ways of thinking and behaving that could transform your life.

I am based in Longstanton near Cambridge and currently offer Zoom, phone and face to face (subject to social distancing).

My first session

Your first session will be an initial assessment session for us to meet each other (either in person or via Zoom online). I’ll ask you a few questions about yourself and what has brought you to counselling. I’ll tell you a bit about how I can help you.

This session is 30 minutes, free of charge, with no obligation to continue. If we both feel we’ll be a good match for your therapy then we arrange future appointments.
