About me and my therapy practice
Difficult feelings can be hard to manage on your own. Maybe this is due to a recent event or it is a feeling you have been struggling with for some time. Sometimes it can feel hard to open up to those around you, or maybe you are feeling isolated and unsure where to turn. As a psychodynamic psychotherapist I offer a confidential and supportive space where we can explore together the feelings and experiences which have led to your current difficulties. By beginning to understand ourselves better we can notice patterns in our thinking that are no longer helpful, facilitating an opportunity for change as you work towards building a more secure sense of self.
I provide an empathic approach and work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. Sessions are offered on the same day and time each week providing a reliable space for you to bring whatever feels important. This gives you the security that there is a place to bring difficult feelings, which we can think about together.
Initially I provide a free fifteen minute telephone consultation to discuss what you would like from counselling and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
I offer open-ended therapy which can either be short-term as we focus on a specific issue or longer term for a wider range of issues and more in-depth work. My current availability includes telephone and online sessions.
I am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their Code of Ethics.
