About me and my therapy practice

Based in the City and Central London, I recommend arranging an introductory 50 minute session to explore what brings you to counselling and how we might work together.  I have one quiet, comfortable practice 2 minutes from Liverpool Street station and another in Holborn.

WHAT I OFFER

We all experience emotional difficulties or distress during our lives: stress, anxiety, depression, loss, feeling worthless, empty, uncertain or overwhelmed. Sometimes these difficulties can be hard to deal with alone or with the help of friends or family. I believe that counselling is not about giving advice or telling you what to do. It is about listening to you without judgement, enabling you to explore your thoughts and feelings and gain valuable new perspectives about yourself and your situation. It is about helping you to resolve your difficulties yourself, find new ways of coping or give you a greater sense of control and choice in your life.

Everyone is different and your needs will be unique so I draw on a range of approaches to provide the right support and assistance for you. In the first consultation we can discuss any questions you might have, explore what brings you to counselling and decide if it feels right for you - the 'feel right' factor is important. I am a registered provider with major insurance companies. Please ask for further details.

I'm also a qualified EMDR therapist. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is one of the NICE recommended treatments for PTSD and trauma. Research shows it is also effective with issues, such as anxiety, depression, phobias, low self-esteem, complex grief and even pain management
