About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified and registered counsellor working in Saltdean in East Sussex.
The type of counselling I subscribe to is called ‘humanistic’. Core to this approach is the belief that we each have within ourselves the self-knowledge and ability to identify our own problems and solutions.
Sometimes, this can take a little time and some unpeeling of layers before we get to the core of who we really are and where we need to be.
The role of counsellor, therefore, is not one of advisor but companion, as you talk and work through the things that are troubling you, and begin to make sense of them.
To this therapeutic relationship, I promise to bring a listening ear, empathy, honesty and respect, whilst you provide expertise in the one thing that really matters in all this … you.
My counselling room here in Saltdean is comfortable and private, a non-judgemental space in which to talk about whatever it is that you would like to, with the assurance of confidentiality and empathy.
There is ample parking on the street outside with no charges. Unfortunately, the room is reached by stairs as the house is on a slope so there is no wheelchair access.
I also offer online sessions for those who prefer it or live further away. If accessibility is a problem then do call to discuss.
