About me and my therapy practice

** I have current availability for face to face and online clients**

My hope for us all is that we will flourish in our lives - take the opportunities life presents and live life to the full in whatever way this means for us personally. Sometimes we need some help to flourish, either because we are not sure where we want to be in life, or how to get there. Sometimes due to specific barriers like unhappiness, depression or anxiety we get stuck.

Whether you are aware of a specific problem, or are experiencing general feelings of not being able to move on, dissatisfaction, or would just like some space to explore options, then counselling can be a really positive step forward.

I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor and offer both long and short term therapy for individuals using an integrated approach of Transactional Analysis and Compassion Focussed Therapy. I use my therapeutic skills to help you to develop a deeper understanding of yourself. I will assist you to make the changes you want, in a way that is comfortable for you.

I do not specify how many sessions you need to come for as this will depend on what is going on for you and what you are looking for. My experience is that regular sessions provide the most fulfilling environment for us both and this can mean weekly or fortnightly sessions, but other configurations are also possible. It is also ok to take breaks to give space for reflection as needed.

I have been working as a therapist since 2016 and have been in private practice since 2018.

My background is in social responsibility, professional development, project and event management and hospitality with more than 20 years experience across the private, public and higher education sectors. I have extensive experience of coaching and mentoring in the workplace and helping people to consider their career directions, skills they want to develop and their interpersonal skills.

Practice description

My practice is based in Heaton Moor, where I work from two different therapy centres across the week. All the rooms I use are spacious, have windows and are warm and comfortable.

Heaton Moor is very easy to get to from the Stockport and Manchester areas, with local parking available, bus services on the doorstep and is a short walk from Heaton Chapel train station.

I am also able to cover any location across the UK via online therapy.

Counselling and psychotherapy is non-directive, I would not give you advice or tell you what to do. I do offer a safe confidential space and the skills to help you explore what is going on for you, understand where issues come from, consider what you may want to change and how to implement these changes.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity to ask questions and explore what you would like to gain from therapy and how we may work together. There is no obligation to continue if you do not wish to.
