About me and my therapy practice
Hi, thanks for considering me as a possible therapist - and taking the time to read this.
I’ve been honoured to be helping people on their journey towards mental wellbeing for several years now. I focus on a person-centred approach, emphasising the integration of practices oriented towards trauma resolution and associated learned coping behaviour.
I'm not a life coach; I'm not an expert in your life. But I am educated and qualified to help you work through your thoughts and emotions - especially as they impact you in today's modern world.
Feel free to contact me. It would be great to have an initial chat, and we can decide whether or not to take things from there.
Practice description
I have an Honours Degree in Psychology, a Postgraduate Qualification in Counselling and a Master’s Degree in Psychotherapy.
I adhere to the code of ethics of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Society for Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (SdDBT).
I’ve experienced working in the NHS environment alongside GPs and their patient's mental health concerns. Through my work as a member of a specialist clinical team that delivers Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) I have experience working with self-harming adolescents and young people.
My first session
Before our first session, we will have a brief introductory call to discuss how you are - what is troubling you - and how I could best assist.
As an outcome of this first call, I'll advise a way forward - most likely contracting to work together for several weekly sessions. At regular intervals, we will evaluate progress and chart the way forward together.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, AIDS/HIV, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Cancer, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, Loss, Men's issues, Obsessions, OCD, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Service veterans, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
