About me and my therapy practice
Welcome...my name is Leila (she/her). I am a proudly female-only person-centred therapist at Through The Woods Counselling.
My specialist areas are:
- Working with young people (11-18 years).
A safe space
I aim to provide you with a safe and confidential space where you can freely talk about the things that are troubling you at your pace and from your perspective. We can work together to create a safe space online, face-to-face or outdoors in nature.
A non-judgemental approach
I understand that coming to therapy can be daunting, especially if it is your first time. Please rest assured that you will be welcomed with a warm and open approach. All feelings are valid and your experiences will be met with empathy and compassion.
Your voice will be heard
My goal is to help you reconnect with your true self, to help you rediscover your voice and to uncover the meaning behind your struggles.
Training, qualifications & experience
Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
Post Graduate certificate in Primary Education.
BSc Psychology Degree 2:1.
I am also a member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and abide by their ethical framework and moral principles.
I have a background in teaching and have over two years experience of counselling young people through a charity based in Bristol.
I am currently a volunteer with Cruse bereavement Support, Wales and have over two years experience of working with those impacted by the loss of a loved one.
I have experience of working with clients from a diverse range of backgrounds, including neurodivergent clients and clients from the LGBTQ+ community.
My therapy room is based at my home near Caldicot.
I offer day time in-person sessions between 9.30am-2.30pm (Mon-Thurs).

I offer both long term (open-ended) and short term (6-7 weeks) work.
I understand that for some clients Covid is still a big concern. Please rest assured that if you are looking for face-to-face sessions that my therapy room is thoroughly cleaned before and after each use. There is hand gel provided and masks can be worn (at the request of the client).

I offer a FREE 15-30 MINUTE CONSULTATION which usually takes place by telephone.
